OUR PHILOSOPHY

TEAM7x is committed to promoting fly fishing for trout in eastern CT and RI through fly casting lessons and on-stream experiences.  This area features many outstanding rivers and streams including the Natchaug and Shetucket rivers.  We make every effort to promote fly fishing with younger folks and those who have never fly fished before through a series of no-charge fly casting programs throughout the fishing season.  For extremely modest fees, we can custom-tailor an on-water program for yourself, family members, club, or group. TEAM7x also offers  no-charge programs for high school environmentally focused clubs and elective classes.

As days shorten and temps cool, we offer an outstanding opportunity to fish for Atlantic Salmon on the Shetucket River.  These stocked excess broodstock Atlantics provide a unique opportunity to land a 5-20 pound leaper!  The Shetucket is one of only 2 rivers in southern New England offering this opportunity.

We believe that by providing timely fishing information on rivers and streams in eastern CT and RI, more anglers will fish these locations and relieve pressure on some of the area's more heavily fished streams and rivers.  We believe that benefits all anglers.

We believe that good information benefits all fly fishermen and women.  There is plenty of water, plenty of great locations, and we DO NOT subscribe to the "secret location" theory, whose old-school followers believe that sharing info somehow hurts our sport. As an example, CTDEP now publishes highlighted stocking maps of all streams and rivers in CT.  We believe that's a good thing!
